Spirit 1.0 Plus is a portable 1kW electric outboard made for dinghies, fishing boats, sailboats and tenders. It features a 1276 Wh large integrated lithium battery for long range. It’s nimble, lightweight, and clean power. What’s more, should the unthinkable happen, and your battery falls into the water, not only is it waterproof, but more importantly, it floats!

At the core of Spirit 1.0 Plus electric outboard motor, it’s a 1kW BLDC motor, comparable with 3HP petrol outboard (propulsive power), and giving a range of over 20 miles!

Torqeedo electric motors

When Christoph Ballin and Friedrich Böbel founded Torqeedo, concepts such as clean tech and electromobility were not yet common parlance. But it was already obvious back in 2004 that electric motors would become increasingly important in the future due to global population growth, increasing awareness of the need to reduce carbon usage generally, the world’s limited oil reserves, and efforts to limit global warming. Today Torqeedo electric motors are increasingly popular, especially as battery technology continues to be developed, to provide a feasible, desirable and cost-effective alternative to petrol and diesel engines.
